This topic is to discuss the girlfriend character in the En Bloc VN project.

Almost nothing is specified about her in the plot outline. The only things we know:
-She is PROTAGONIST's girlfriend.
-She attends the same high school as PROTAGONIST.
-She drinks beer. How often or how much is not determined, but it's not possible that she's someone who never drinks any alcohol.

As for the rest, anything goes.

Discuss.

Well, a good background of her drinking habits is because its a 'she drinks because he drinks' kind of thing.

Seconding guest's idea, it could lead to her getting drunk easy -> getting murdered, etc.

For this purpose, she must have a cute/lovable characteristics, or is enough to fish the mercy of the readers.

How can we develop her character, though? She's already dead when the story begins. Flashback fests?

If there is a lack of flashbacks, it would almost seem like its some monologue if the story is in the eyes of the main guy. Unless you're suggesting a novel method like Saya No Uta.

Yes. During the three (well, two and a half) days he spends at school, PROTAGONIST gets various flashbacks, plus we can of course develop her character through conversation between PROTAGONIST and FRIEND.

"She's still absent, huh? Didn't even call the school either." "Of course not. We're talking about GIRLFRIEND here. When's the last time she actually reported something in time?" "Heh, good point." "Before you know it, she'll be at school again, acting like nothing's happened."
^contains character development even though GIRLFRIEND isn't even present: GIRLFRIEND is always late with reporting stuff, and seems pretty easy-going (as suggested by the comment that she'll just act like nothing's happened when she returns).

How did the girlfriend and our guy first meet and get together? I think that deserves mentioning in the story

So, do we agree on the following personality?:
GIRLFRIEND is a good-natured, but somewhat bossy girl. She loves PROTAGONIST and her bossyness actually helps PROTAGONIST, who is more of a passive guy, although he doesn't always like her bossing him around so much.

Also, random name suggestion: Emma Fields. (we can't be referring to her as GIRLFRIEND forever)

A somewhat tsundere girl. Sounds fitting.

Added: A quick sketch on a college girl. Not sure if want.

The girlfriend must have something that makes the protagonist want to kill her. Maybe she cheated on him or something.
By the way I was thinking that maybe we could go a little sci-fi on this one to give the plot some twists, but I'm not sure.

The protagonist didn't really want to kill her, although there was a reason why he could get really pissed off by the girl (as suggested, it could be because she's bossing him around all the time).

As for the sketch; I think it looks nice, but it somehow (perhaps because of her expression?) doesn't really fit the personality we're coming to here (actually, more like here, but whatever). I dunno...maybe a bit more of a self-confident expression, maybe?

I actually always liked the name Emma, so I'm all for it.

Okay, did a quick drawing of her based on Admin Anon's design, but with a more confident expression.

That's the effect we're looking for.

Sketch just got my approval.

I guess this is what Emma will look like throughout most of the story. Once I fix it here and there, and color it properly, maybe it can even be used as a CG.

Should there be blood coming from her temple?

It depends on how she was killed. I think I read somewhere that her neck was broken? So then...

Dunno, but I think it would be kind of difficult to accidentally break someone's neck.
Nipanya was probably referring to the idea currently in the plot outline - protagonist picks up an empty beer bottle, swings it at her forehead, she dodges, she gets hit at her temples instead - instant death.

Oh, awesome. Now we also have an alibi. Maybe turn her head to the right a bit, as if leaning onto the wall, physics, etc. Ah you know.

...Or maybe put a table where her head is leaning right now? Ohohoho

Either way, I like it.

Hmm... Well, if her head is right in the corner of the closet like this, then it should be fine.

Isn't that a bit large for a closet, especially in a dorm room?
I was more thinking that she'd fit in if she would be facing to the side, like this:

...yeah, that's why I didn't sign up as artist.

Ah, okay. I will play around with it more later.

What kind of door should the closet have, by the way?

I vote for double doors with lock... hmm... probably made of some kind of space age airtight material, to keep the smell in or something.

We at least need a reason why the corpse isn't rotting/the rotting corpse isn't smelly.

Yeah, decomposition begins as soon as you die. Even after one day it will begin to smell.

But if he has the kind of closet that slides and doesn't have any gaps when it's closed then maybe he won't notice the smell

I don't have much experience with putting dead people in my closet, so I don't know which closets keep the smell in and which doesn't, but yeah, it should be something that keeps the smell in AND can be locked.
That second thing is important because
1) the whole accidentaly-drop-the-key-in-the-trash-bin thing
and 2) this way he won't be able to open the closet to see what's inside, as he can't find the key anymore.
