Due to spambots and the board being dead, this board is now read-only.
In case anybody's still checking this, the 'Recent Changes' tab and editing on the wiki are broken for now. Fixing it would invoke the wrath of spambots, so since nobody's actually submitting anything, I'll refrain from fixing it until somebody needs it again.

It's definitely resting in peace.
It's been so long. I'm sorry I disappeared without saying anything. Last thing I remember about this project was me getting mad at my own art and deleting everything I drew for En Bloc.
Eventually I started having thoughts like "oh well, I didn't like this VN idea anyway", because to be honest, I really disliked Roy as a main character. I know he didn't mean to kill her, but I hated him for raising his hand on someone who was supposedly important to him, even if he was drunk. I mean, I can feel sorry for a character like Shion even though she was a murderer, but I couldn't feel anything for Roy, I just hated him.
The past few months I've been getting into drawing again, and I finally got a tablet. I can't believe how much time I used to waste trying to draw with a mouse. Using a tablet is so much easier and so much more fun.
But yeah, I just happened to remember this project, and wanted to check how things were. Sorry we couldn't finish it.
>>6
Wow, you've been drawing without a tablet all this time?
Anyways, I'm the one who should apologize. This project was doomed to fail from the very moment it first started to slow down all the way back in 2009. I spent well over two years in denial, thinking that it would be possible to force ourselves to finish a project we had come to a standstill on. Now that I've actually finished things I finally understand the futility of doing so; a project with no momentum will never reach completion, and it takes a miracle for momentum to suddenly appear from a complete standstill.
I'm sorry for dragging you along on this doomed-to-fail project for so long.
And is anyone still here?
Nobody is here anymore. En Bloc was a visual novel project that originated from the collaborative '/jp/ project' (which also spawned Dandelion Girl and a bunch of failed other projects). All in all, it's not really anything of interest unless you were around back then.
Stuff that needs to be written:
* 1 Chapter 1: Confusion
o 1.1 Scene 1-01-1: Good morning
o 1.2 Scene 1-02-1: Nothing better to do
o 1.3 Scene 1-03-1: Cleaning up
* 2 Chapter 2: Identity
o 2.1 Scene 2-01-1: Who am I?
o 2.2 Scene 2-02-1: Naturally, I knows the hacker
o 2.3 Scene 2-03-1: Nothing and a locked closet
o 2.4 Scene 2-04-1: Detour
o 2.5 Scene 2-05-1: Phone call
* 3 Chapter 3: School
o 3.1 Scene 3-01-1: A trip down memory lane
o 3.2 Scene 3-F01-1: Memorizing the lane
There's something ironic about taking 3 months to write a scene about how somebody manages to find the motivation not to slack off. But I did it!

VDZ 1 - Laziness 0
This means that 11 out of 25, or 44% of the scenes have been written. If I take three months per scene, the writing will be finished in 2014!
(Or maybe I should just write more often.)
Finished the next scene. Holy fuck, that was difficult...it's not much text, and there's almost no more information than in the scene description, yet it's surprisingly difficult to actually write it down like that.
http://www.stack.nl/~vdz/enbloc/wiki/index.php?title=Scene_3-F02-1:_First_meeting
It took me only a little over a month, that's a 200% increase in speed! 12 out of 25 scenes written (48%). If I can keep up this pace, the writing will be finished in 2012. Or I might actually start writing at a decent speed, and it'll be finished before 2012.
Anyways, is everybody still around? Last post not made by me was in January...any progress, or are you joining me in setting the new world record for procrastination?
Yeah, prety much. I'm also working on my graduate thesis these days, so that goes double points to procrastination...
12 days ago, enbloc.tk got suspended due to inactivity, and it would be up for registration again 10 days after its suspension.
It's up for registration again...but it's no longer free to register it, so it remains unregistered.
Is everybody still here, or did we lose somebody because enbloc.tk no longer redirects here?
Hurray, a response at last! Now to wait until SHIKI Anon checks his spam folder...
Hey hey, I finally did. Bookmarking this new one, also, if you have other backups/reserves, I should bookmark them now so I won't lose out.
>>4
Well, this one is permanent. The 'previous' one (enbloc.tk) just redirected to here.
Our team is complete again, so we can continue at the amazing speed we've been working at!
(Unfortunately, we'll be missing our projected release date of 'around the time Duke Nukem Forever is released', as DNF finally got a release date of May 3rd. Well, we can still try to get it released before Otome Function!)

Looks good. So Roy is left-handed?
>>24
Whether it looks too much like a flashback depends entirely on how you color the flashback CGs.
However, there's a different thing I'm worried about: the colors of the ground and walls (the nearby environment) seem way too strongly colored in comparison to the sky and distant objects. Sunset rarely colors everything equally orange; usually the further something is away, the more orange it is.
See the picture for an example; the close things mostly retain their colors, while everything further away is dyed orange.
Here is an ugly edit showing the colors I think would be more fitting for an evening scene. The foreground is still dyed orange, but not nearly as strongly.
Ah, true, I went a little overboard with the orange. Another attempt.
> So Roy is left-handed?
Yeah, I keep on forgetting to mention it. I accidentally drew him holding his ID card with his left hand, so after that I just continued drawing him left-handed. He is holding pizza with his left hand too.
>>28
Yes, that's what I meant! It looks great, much better than >>24 .
I noticed the pizza one after seeing the cellphone CG (it looked unnatural the first time I saw it, then tried holding my own cellphone, and found out that it's actually the way you'd hold it if you were left-handed), but didn't notice with the ID card, although that's most likely because it's not all that special to hold a simple card with your non-dominant hand.
I will be a bit busy with college for (most likely) the next few weeks, as well as the past two weeks, but rest assured I'll be (really) back on the team as son as this shitstorm loosens up.
Welcome back, SHIKIanon.
I was going to color SHIKIanon's street background, but it's turning out somewhat different. Spent the last 2 days working on it. Now I need to add some houses, trees, and paint the whole thing properly.
>>13
Good, it looks like city streets and passes the perspective test. I can't really comment much more than that, since it's still quite unfinished, so it's only obvious it currently looks so empty.
Anyways, you're nipanya, right? It's kinda confusing when you're posting as Anonymous.
Investigation music (unnamed) by Dahdah
Very, very good but was never completed. We haven't seen Dahdah in ages as well, so this one will have to be replaced.
Still, it can be used for inspiration (or as insurmountable wall that makes it difficult to make an equally good Investigation music...).
'As Usual' by VDZ
Originally intended as School music, this one went completely wrong, but on second thought, it could be an interesting second Dorm music. Opinions, anyone?
School music 'Break Time' by VDZ
Not entirely satisfied with this one, though.
