Players:
6th was a usual Stack speed game (i.e. 3 updates a week), hence the 7
months of game play ;-)
For 6th I copied and adapted a lot of Twisted Mind 2000:
We had to deal with one player bailing out before the first update: Mindcrimity. His sectors were turned into plains, which had no resources and his sanctuaries turned into wasteland.
The enormous impact that civ had on the edu production, made for a quite civ-less game. Only sectors that _really_ needed civs had some in them, but most sectors were kept at a minimum.
Because of RES_POP and the cheap mil, one of the strategically best moves was to build research fast and make sure that some amount of mil always assured an extra dust procuced in every mountain. Getting the mountains was another problem: you needed spuds to attack. No tech/research was possible without controlling mountains, because they were the only place to get dust from.
South_Drovia started the game by adopting a new country name from Drovia, stating that whoever was north of him was to be united again to form a new Drovia. This provocation was never actually followed by the conquest of "North_Drovia".
The first updates every country did it's share of land grabbing while it was available. The first interruption of the peace came from South_Drovia: he attempted a quick land grab on Synchron, but was repelled and punished by Synchron and his ally Euforia. After this there was world peace again.
After a peaceful period, Limbo left the game, leaving his country open for who attacked first. All countries benefited from a piece of Limbo. After this, some kind of a balance of power was restored again.
But this time not for long: Euforia sought out an excuse to attack Coco, the weakest player at that time. Euforia had Coco turn hostile to him by overflying Coco with a recon plane. This was enough to start a war, where Coco was killed in a few updates, with a bit of "help" from Acrys, for whom it was his first game, and from Myst.
After a tech race for a few weeks, Myst intercepted some Euforia transport planes, delivering food to some sectors. This was a reason for Euforia to go hostile on Myst, throwing all unused planes into use to be intercepted by Myst, after which a few nukes were dropped on the right sectors.
Enter the spy sats. Reason enough for Euforia to declare the win. Euforia had acquired huge amounts of cash from Synchron by a voluntary cap sack, so nukes away ! After some protests by Acrys, rewarded with some wasteland, the win declaration was accepted.
