Bothan
Bothan is the whisky tasting fraternity of M.C.G.V. Stack. Bothan organises whisky tasting sessions for her members and in collaboration with the Activiteiten Commissie organises open tastings.
Goal
The fraternity's goal is twofold:
- Providing a low threshold introduction to the world of whisky.
- Discovering and enjoying whiskies together.
Membership & Activities
Bothan aims to build a broad collection of whiskies, which we can discover and enjoy during the regular tasting sessions. The membership fee is € 25,--, which includes a strippenkaart of 80 strippen. Each whisky costs a certain amount of strippen per dram (20ml) which are deducted from your strippenkaart when you take a dram during one of the tasting sessions. Additional strippenkaarten are available at € 20,-- a piece. Most of the whiskies cost between 4 and 8 strippen per dram, with some exceptions costing a bit more.
Besides the regular tasting sessions, which are limited to members, Bothan also organises open tasting sessions in collaboration with the Stack Activiteiten Commissie. These events consist of a set menu of whiskies, which you all get to taste. Taking part in one of these events costs a one time fee.
Rules and Regulations
The Rules and Regulations for Bothan are only available in Dutch, although in future an English translation might be created, the Dutch version is the regulatory reference.
