The StackPointer is the magazine of Stack, distributed to all its members. The name is often shortened to Pointer. The magazine contains articles from Stack members on a wide range of topics - not just technical computer stuff. Also included frequently are reports from recent activities, general announcements, a puzzle, a recipe and a section with noteworthy citations from members: the quotes (or kwoots) section.

The StackPointer magazine appears whenever there are enough articles available to fill the pages; and enough advertisements to pay for printing and distribution. Lacking advertisements, the Pointer is sometimes made available electronically (as PDF or HTML) only. Generally there are about 1 to 4 editions per year.

Old editions of the magazine are currently not available online - they are however still kept somewhere in electronic form and may reappear in some corner of the Stack website in the future. A full paper history is kept in the Stack archives.

The StackPointer editorial team is responsible for selecting (and cleaning up) articles. They don't write all the articles themselves: anybody can send in content for the magazine. Just email your articles to pointer@stack.nl.
