SHoBo

SHoBo is the Stack Hoegaarden Borrel. This is a social event which is organised frequently in or near the Stack room in DH 0.03. In general a SHoBo will be held every first Tuesday of each month. But special occasions (holidays, early closing times or Intro activities) may lead to the event being moved to another date. For each SHoBo an announcement mail will be sent out to all Stack members.

A SHoBo generally starts around 6:00pm and lasts several hours. People usually hang around after the official SHoBo until closing time (10:30 or even 11:30pm) - and some will continue their merriment in the pub after that even. Despite the name, there are many other drinks available besides Hoegaarden - both other beers and a range of non-alcoholic beverages. Usually one of the special beers is available as well. Cold and warm snacks (crisps and hot dogs) are generally included as well. In the summer these events frequently take place on the lawn outside the buiding where Stack is housed.

The SHoBos are organised by Stack's activities committee and are generally well visited by both active and resting members. On special occasions (Sinterklaas, New Year's, Carnival, Dies) the activity may be more elaborate in the atmosphere of the occasion. On regular months, the least you may expect from a SHoBo is a special beer of the month.

Infrequently (about twice a year) the SHoBo will include a PGP keysigning party. This is usually combined with CAcert, Thawte, etc. assurances as well, for people interested in other web-of-trust certification programs.
